In NSW to become a Bouncer/ Crowd Controller you require a security licence, a Certificate II in Security Operations.
The term Bouncer has long been discarded for the newer more modern term Crowd Controller. Even that term is now being replaced with the term Security Officer, which is more meaningful in the terms of the training and responsibilities that a modern Security Officer has.
Upon completion of your qualifications CPP20218-Certificate II Security Operations to become a bouncer, Security Officer you can then apply to the SLED for a Class 1AC Security Licence, a further cost of $200 per year will be required or $640 for a 5 year security licence.
A Security Officer’s (bouncer’s) duties are to provide security, to check the legal age of a person entering a venue and drinking age, to refuse entry for intoxicated persons, and to deal with aggressive behaviour or non-compliance with statutory or establishment rules as outlined in the RSA. house rules.
As a Security Office (bouncer) you will be required to have excellent verbal communications skills.
To observe and provide conflict resolution, should situations arise.

Upon successful completion of the course, you can then apply to the SLED for a Class 1AC Security Licence, a further cost of $200 per year will be required or $640 for a 5 year licence.
Prior to commencing the Security Guard course, you will be required to obtain a HLTAID011-Provide First Aid Course, for Multisec Students enrolled in the Certificate II in Security Operations the course cost is discounted to $100.00.
