After-hours access to SLED-approved Trainers
As a Multisec Training Student, you will have easy after-hours access to SLED-approved trainers 7 days a week. This will ensure that during the life of your course you will be able to contact an approved trainer 7 days a week.
This also extends to past Multisec Training Students.

Security Guard Training
In course security training by dedicated, professional trainers delivering high-quality security guard training.
Our security guard training commences with an information session, followed by students completing an application to commence the CPP20218 Certificate II Security Operations. Next students will complete an assessment that measures their capacity to complete the security training course.
Prior to Study
Before you commence our security licence course, you must also possess a current first-aid certificate. You will be required to undertake pre-course learning language literacy and numeracy test.
Once you have been accepted into our CPP20218-Certificate II Security Operations course, we provide you with access to our highly interactive and stimulating online learning environment that most students find enjoyable and highly informative. The online learning is designed to arm you with the knowledge required to complete our security guard training course successfully.
Upon Completion of Course
Once you have completed the online security guard training, you are eligible to commence the face-to-face component of the course. The face-to-face component of the security guard course is scheduled for two weeks, over 10 days. Most of our security guard training courses run from Monday to Friday, with the weekends off.
Once you have completed the security guard training course, you can apply for a NSW Security Licence. With the NSW Security Licence, you are entitled to perform unarmed security guard work in NSW.
After completing our security guard training course and receiving your NSW Security Licence, the types of work you could do include static guarding at shopping centres or work sites, crowd control at venues removing persons from premises, concierge work at hotels or office buildings. Of course, you could perform many other types of work as a security guard after completing our security guard training course.

Course Entry Requirements
- You must be at least 18 years of age to apply for a NSW Security Licence and to commence this course.
- You must provide identification equivalent to 100 points
- You must be an Australian or New Zealand citizen or a permanent Australian resident or a hold a visa that entitles you to work in Australia (other than a student or working holiday visa)
- No criminal history
What qualifications do I need to be a Security Guard ?
Although there are no specific entry requirements to become a security guard, a good level of education is an advantage.
Also, the NSW Police Force and most employers will carry out background checks and although not all criminal charges will rule you out of all security guard jobs, there are certain offenses that will prohibit you from getting your security licence. What kind of training do security guards do?
To become a Security Guard in NSW you require a Certificate II in Security Operations, course CPP20218.
If you want to carry a firearm, or work with a security guard dog, or be a bodyguard for a person you will need to the the CPP20218 Certificate III in Security Operations course with a training college that is authorised to deliver this course.
Is a security guard a good career?
Becoming a security guard is a fantastic career for people of all ages, with a large variety of jobs they can choose from.
They can do mobile or static patrols, or crowd control in hotels and large venues such as music festivals.
Security guard’s work is highly respected and important as they work with the police and with the client to reduce the risk of crime.
Although it is for all ages, security guards still need to be physically fit. This isn’t to say that security guards need to be Olympic athletes, but they do need to be able to walk and stand for extended periods of time and they need to possess good upper body strength. The reason for this is at times they need to be able to carry people who are injured or in harm’s way and can’t move themselves, or you may need to restrain a person who is intending to harm you or members of the public.
