On completion of this course, you will be awarded a nationally recognised CPP41519: Certificate IV in Security Risk Analysis. You will then be able to apply for a Class 2A Security Licence, providing you have had 5 years experience in the security industry.

The Certificate IV in Security Risk Analysis is completed in up to 12 months of self-paced learning and is offered in three different delivery options:

  1. Standard online learning: Complete 1 unit per month for 12 months including regular contact with your trainer. Students should allow 20–25 hours per week to study.
  2. Accelerated blended learning: People with prior security knowledge, skills or qualifications can complete 2 units per month for 6 months. Students should allow 30–40 hours per week to study.


Recognised prior learning (RPL) – assessment only:
If you can provide evidence of extensive industry experience, you may be able to apply previous study and work experience towards the requirements for this qualification. We aim to have all RPL assessments finalised within 12 weeks but it is usually much quicker. The actual time frame depends on the course, your experience and how long it takes for you to provide the evidence we require for verification.

While there are no prerequisite courses you need to do, you will require basic English language, literacy and numeracy (LLN) skills. You will need access to a computer to complete this course. If you are a student visa holder, you will not be able to study this course with us.

You will need to complete an enrolment form which you can pick up from our training rooms or contact us and we can arrange a form and help you to enrol. 

You will also need photo identification (such as a driver’s licence or passport) and your Unique Student Identifier (USI) number. If you don’t have one you can apply for a USI here or give us permission to create one for you.
