To apply for a 1AC Security Licence in NSW, to become a security guard, you must first complete a Certificate II in Security Operations.
You need to apply for the 1AC security licence through the NSW Security Licence Enforcement Directorate.
Enrolment
To enrol into a security licence course with Multisec Training, you must be either an Australian or New Zealand Citizen or possess a visa that gives you unlimited work rights. Unfortunately, if you are on a Student Visa, you are not able to complete a security course with Multisec or any other security training organisation in NSW.
If you are eligible to apply, then you can contact Multisec Training to book a time to enrol. You then attend our training rooms and fill out an enrolment form and complete a Literacy, Language and Numeracy test.
Pre Qualifications
You must also possess a HLTAID011 Provide First Aid certificate, which you can undertake with Multisec Training.
Once you successfully complete the LLN test, you will be enrolled into the Security Licence Course.
The CPP20218 Certificate II in Security Operations with Multisec Training starts every Monday morning and takes 10 days of face-to-face training to complete. It also includes a 63-hour pre-course learning program.

Completion of Course
At the completion of the Security Course with Multisec Training, you apply for a 1AC Security Licence through the NSW Government portal. You should attach your course certificate, 100 points of ID, and your visa (if applicable).

Time Frame to Get 1AC Security Licence
You will then be asked to attend a police station to have your fingerprints taken and then attend a Service NSW outlet to have your photo taken.
All this typically takes around eight weeks.
