Certificate III in Close Protection Operations course Skill Set
Process for obtaining qualifications required to apply for a 1B Security Licence sub-class.
Entry Requirement:
Must hold: CPP20218 Certificate II in Security Operations or a current class 1 NSW Security Licence (Excluding subclass 1E)

1B Bodyguard - Security Licence Course:
CPPSEC3122 Plan provivion of close protection services
COOSEC3123 Implement close protection services
To enrol into a 1B sub-class course, you will be required to contact Multisec Training and make an appointment to enrol.
Your appointment will require you to actually attend the Multisec Training, training rooms and;
- Provide Multisec Training with 100 points of ID and your USI Number (Unique Student Identifier – if you have one and can’t find it type “find my USI into a browser. If you don’t have one, type “Create a USI into a browser)

Provide Multisec Training with your advanced first aid certificate (HLTAID014). If you don’t have an advanced first aid course, you can do it with Multisec Training for $200.00
Note. It is mandatory to possess the HLTAID014 – Advanced First Aid prior to commencing the CPP31418 – Certificate III in Close Protection Operations Skill Set. - Complete a SLED mandated Pre-Enrolment Assessment at the level of Certificate III.
The Pre-Enrolment Assessment is essentially a Language, Literacy and Numeracy assessment that is designed to ensure you have sufficient skills to complete the course.
- Pay the course fee of $590.00
Once enrolled, you will be required to attend face-to-face classroom learning for two days. At completion of the course, you will be awarded a Statement of Attainment for the two units of competency for 1B skillset, which comprises CPPSEC3122 (Plan provision of close protection services) and CPPSC3123 (Implement close protection services)
The process of applying for a 1B sub-class security licence is; you must first be the holder of a current NSW Security Licence and possess the Statement of Attainment for the two units of competency for 1B skillset, which comprises CPPSEC3122 (Plan provision of close protection services) and CPPSC3123 (Implement close protection services)
Fill out parts 1, 4, 6, 7, 8 of a form titled “Application to AMEND, VARY or REPLACE AN EXISTING CLASS 1 and/or CLASS 2 LICENCE under the Security Industry Act 1997” and referred to by the NSW Police Force as a P645 form.

As the holder of a 1B security licence, you are being employed or engaged for the purposes of providing close personal protection to another person. This means to provision of physical personal security by a bodyguard or bodyguards (close protection team) to a person (principal/protectee) or a group of people at risk of harassment, harm, or attack. Close protection aims to prevent injury, loss, damage, or death.
The actual act of close protection could include safely escorting a person from one place to another, such as from a motor vehicle to a venue, or protecting them if they are stationary, such as in a corporate box at an event or in a hotel suite or any other place the person being protected may be.
