The Security Licence Training involves both face to face and online learning, with new courses commencing every Monday.

Our Training room location is at 15/191 Parramatta Rd, Auburn with free onsite parking available.

Once you have completed the security guard training course, you can apply for a NSW Security Licence. With the NSW Security Licence, you are entitled to perform unarmed security guard work in NSW.

    All Multisec Training’s security courses are delivered by highly competent trainers who have been members of the security industry and law enforcement bodies for decades. It is this experience that combines to make your training experience one of the best in the State.

    The NSW Security Licence Training Course time frame includes the successful completion of the Pre-Course literacy assessment, then a self-paced online learning.

    This pre-learning must be completed prior to commencing the face-to-face component of the course. The online learning can take up to 63 hours over approximately three weeks, while the face-to-face component of the course involves 10 days instruction at Auburn, where you will be involved in facilitator lead classroom instruction, and interactive, hands-on practical assessments.

    NSW Security Licence process can take up to 6 to 8 weeks once you have completed your security training course.

    Upon completion of the full security guard training course, CPP20218-Certificate II Security Operations, you can then apply to the SLED for an 1A Unarmed Guard security licence. If your licence is granted you will receive a photograph advice letter. You have 60 days to take the Photograph Advice letter to a Service NSW centre to have your photograph taken. The minimum timeframe for a complete application to be processed is approximately 6 to 8 weeks.

    When you apply for a security licence through NSW Police, or renew your existing licence, you can choose to have a one year or a five year licence.

    The most common duties of an unarmed security guard may include securing a commercial premises and patrolling a property.

    A security guard’s duties are highly respected, as they work with the police and with the client to reduce the risk of crime, other duties of a security guard may include Crowd Controller.

    A security guard can crowd control in hotels and large venues such as music festivals.

    A crowd controller’s duties include, managing large crowds at hotels/clubs or music venues, or other locations of mass gatherings such as festivals, celebrations for example New Years Eve.  A crowd controller must keep constant watch of the crowd during a specific event such as speeches, events, concerts, in order to prevent and react quickly to incidents. Their duties include the entry of venues, monitoring crowd behaviour, handling aggressive behaviour and conducting emergency evacuations, should the need arise.

    The Security Licence 1C Crowd Controller licence can be applied for on completion of the security guard course CPP20218-Certificate II Security Operations.

      Do I need a First Aid Course to become a Security Guard?
      • Certain Occupations require a A First Aid Course certificate, of which a Security Guard is one. The certificate HLTAID011-Provide First Aid Course is a pre-requisite for the Security Guard Course.
      What identification do I require?
      You must provide identification equivalent to 100 points.

      • A national photographic identity document, Citizen card or Passport card (current or expired within the last two years but not cancelled)

      What to bring to enrolment?
      • Full payment must be made prior to being given access to the student portal and commencement of the pre-course online volume of learning and training.
      • Proof of Identification up to 100 points must be provided before payment can be accepted.
      • Writing paper, pen and a highlighter.
      • Proof that you possess a Provide First Aid HLTAID003 certificate.
